Bangladesh has a thriving community of street and neighborhood cats, where locals frequently feed, rescue, and rehome animals in need. To bring structure and visibility to these informal networks, zeroonzero engineered Meowmensingh, a lightweight, community-first mapping web application built to keep track of local cat populations.

The Engineering & Design Approach

Meowmensingh was built around simplicity, speed, and privacy. When users open the map, they instantly see cats nearby. Tapping a pin reveals a concise card complete with photography, names, and key attributes. Users can log a spotted cat, report a lost pet, or share a story with minimal friction.

Privacy and safety were core priorities during development. To protect both the animals and the community, precise GPS coordinates are automatically fuzzed to a 100-meter radius before rendering publicly, displaying general area markers rather than exact street addresses.

• Automated Story Cards: The platform features a built-in story generator that instantly transforms any cat profile into a 1080 by 1920 social-ready image. It uses fixed-aspect framing to handle tall and wide uploads effortlessly, complete with status pills, custom warm palettes, and a privacy-conscious blurred-photo option.
• Lightweight Profiles: Designed with performance in mind, user and cat profiles rely on clean JSON structures rather than heavy media storage. Users receive procedural vector cat avatars generated from randomized color sets, keeping the system fast and responsive.
• Refined UI and Accessibility: Recent updates include enhanced visual hierarchy for story templates, accessible contrast ratios on interactive elements, and skeleton loaders to ensure smooth state transitions.

What is Next

Looking ahead, zeroonzero is expanding the discovery engine to include intelligent area searches powered by open-source map data, allowing users to quickly navigate across different regions while maintaining strict privacy fuzzing standards.
